From the Owners

Dear Dog Lovers,

We really hope that you enjoy our website and that it will offer you the opportunity to find that "one in a million" puppy for you and your family! We take great pride in the puppies we raise and work very hard to provide each customer with exceptional support before and after the sale.

We are a group of twelve "in-home" breeders (mostly family and a few friends who are closer than family) located here in the VA, MD & DC area that breed only quality homegrown, home-raised puppies. We decided to set up a website that would provide other families the opportunity to view and check us out prior to purchase.

We have no red tape, no outrageous fees, no restrictions and promise NEVER to pretend to be anything other than what we are - a group of friends and family that raises puppies and sits on the Beltway Monday through Friday to get to work with the rest of the NoVA residents.

Most of us have bred for 20 years or more and know just how disappointing it can be to arrive at a breeders home to find five other families there for the same puppy you drove two hours for ... or worse to arrive at a kennel or puppymill only to tell the children you need to leave without a puppy. We promise that will not happen here.

We decided after visiting many other breeders that we could do better. We must do better. We will NEVER be a pet store or a kennel and we will NEVER support a puppymill or re-seller.

We breed for quality, health and temperament. We warrant the health of all of our puppies for five years and always strive for happy and healthy puppies! Our goal is to provide a joyful puppy experience at a price that a family can afford. As Poppa would say we breed 'home bound puppies for families”.

All of our puppies will be vet checked, have the full set of shots and be de-wormed prior to delivery or pick up. All warranties and records will be in writing in the form of a legal contract.

We hope to hear from you soon and enjoy!

PLEASE NOTE:
We do NOT support puppy mills and would request that no brokers, breeders or pet stores contact us.

Kind Regards,

Brad and Lauren

Avery,

Scully is doing great.

Next Tuesday, we head up to NYC to a Discovery Channel event celebrating the completion of a documentary on the amazing relationships people have with pets which includes a large segment on Critters For The Cure.  Scully was invited to attend. Jeff Corbin from Animal Planet will host.  I expect that Scully will be an instant star as he is a heart breaker.

Our Sr. dog Marley has been a great big brother, teaching Scully everything he needs to know about eating like a champ and going outside.  We still have a problem with housebreaking as Scully believes that morning poos are for outside and the rest are saved for mom's carpet.  Can't seem to change his mind on that one yet.  Leo (kitty) and Scully chase each other around the living room and Scully loves to bark when Leo runs under the bed.

Even though Marley is 17, he wants to go for our hourly walks so as not to miss any of the action.  Scully is the favorite neighborhood puppy and rolls over whenever he meets someone so they can scratch his belly. He seems to favor a Bichon named Molly and cries when she has to go home.

Think I'll keep him. HA!

Many thanks.  He is a constant source of laughter and will make a terrific therapy pup when he gets a bit older. Two hospitals already have dips on him for their cancer wings. He will bring a lot of smiles to patients battling cancer.  While Critters For the Cure is a breast cancer non-profit, I've decided that Scully should not specialize, therefore he will visit cancer wards and chemo rooms of any/all types of cancer patients. Who cares really!

My son Jay got married on June 14th.  I almost feel like I have a new baby in the house. Never had such a small critter before.

Avery,

Tuesday nite's Discovery Health Channel premiere party for POWER OF PAWS: PETS AND PEOPLE, The Power of the Health Connection was quite an event. The red carpet was replaced with a patch of turf where waiting photographers were waiting for celebrity pooches to arrive. Scully and Sophie (Karen's pup) were naturals.

Inside were martini's and puppy snacks glamour. Nicki Hilton and Rumor Willis were among the celebs on hand, as well as Jeff Corwin who was the producer and host of the documentary. Del Monte Foods financed the event as well as the documentary (makers of Milk Bones) .

During the event, they showed snippets of the film and had guest speakers from time to time. The best segment was saved for last...the Critters For The Cure piece. They shot two in-depth pieces on two of our 2008 Critters women - Bev and Karen; a piece shot from my home with several 2008 calendar women and their critters; and they taped our photo-shoot of our 2009 Critters Calendar. It was a powerful piece on breast cancer, the amazing relationships we form with our critters and the the bonds that form by participating in the critters calendar project.

The Power Of Paws: Pets and People, The Power of the Health Connection premieres

Sunday, July 20th at 9:00 AM on the Discovery Health Channel.

Montgomery County Comcast is 52 or 182 (other than Comcast)

Be sure to tune in or tape this program. It's a powerful program. Critters is a fabulous segment.

Carol Guzy, an amazing photo-journalist from the Washington Post (who was at our 2009 calendar shoot) followed along with us on the bus to NYC. She hung out with us during our entire adventure in NYC. After the Discovery party, we found an Italian restaurant who agreed to seat 3 dogs and 11 people. The chef even prepared chopped steak for the critters. Only in NY would THAT happen! At 7am, I took Scully to the puppy park. The Post captured Scully at work and at play. He adapted to the fact that their was NO grass to be found anywhere, and even rallied when his puppy schedule was way off kilter. He did pee on me once though, but he is still a little puppy. What do you expect?

Everyone crashed once we got on the bus. Scully didn't open his eyes during the entire 4 hour bus ride home. He peed and pooed as soon as he hit grass in Bethesda. What a champ! Marley was glad to see us when we came home. Scully chased Leo under the bed and barked at my shower door until I was finished. Guess he was feeling better.

While the attached pictures did not all come out as well as I would have liked (the camera was passed around for group shots), here is a taste of the Discovery Party.

Enjoy.
